Clayton Smith, LMSW
Clay earned a masters degree in Social Work from Walla Walla University in 2011. He has been trained in DBT, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving and the Arbinger Institute model for Outward Mindset. He worked for 7 years in juvenile corrections where he developed from a line staff to the facility’s primary therapist. Juvenile corrections was a trying and rewarding field that helped him understand first hand that there are no bad kids, just kids in need of help. Clay worked another 2 1/2 years in a private therapeutic boarding school for young men who struggle with mental health challenges like inattentiveness, depression, anxiety, apathy, defiance and rigidity. He loves to help youth understand freedom and earn more of it. Clay loves anything in the mountains and has been successful in mountain bike and running competitions. He is a happy husband and father of 3 wonderful kids.
