Jonathan Morgan, LMSW
Jonathan Morgan is a Licensed Master Social Worker who is currently earning his clinical endorsement at NNH. Jonathan grew up in Utah and received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Brigham Young University studying Family Sociology. Jonathan worked as a foster care worker in Kansas City, Missouri helping children receive services to heal and ensure their safety. Jonathan wanted to get more involved in actively helping children heal from traumatic events and returned to school to receive a master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Social Work.
While at UMKC Jonathan completed his first internship as an adoption case manager for the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids adoption program and worked with an early intervention program aimed at reducing child abuse and neglect. In Jonathan’s second internship at the Child Abuse Prevention Association he provided individual and family therapy for children who were abused or neglected.
Jonathan completed training to become a Registered Play Therapist through the Kansas City Play Therapy Institute and is working on his last requirement to become a Registered Play Therapist.
Jonathan’s professional interests include adoption, attachment based therapy models for adoptive children and their families, trauma, EMDR, play therapy, and helping parents learn skills to assist their children be successful. Jonathan is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Association for Play Therapy, and Families Supporting Adoption.
Jonathan and his wife are adoptive parents and have two children. Jonathan enjoys spending his free time playing with his wife and children, reading, and cooking.
