Robin D. Fox, M.N., M.S., PHMNP
Robin D. Fox is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed her undergraduate Nursing studies at California State University at Los Angeles, in 1979. She completed the Masters in Nursing Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of California at Los Angeles in 1984. Her graduate studies included thesis development related to domestic violence. She later became certified as a Reproductive, Endocrinology and Infertility Nurse. She completed a Masters in Science of Counseling degree at Northwest Nazarene University in May 2011 with a special emphasis in Grief, Trauma and Crisis. These recent graduate studies included research related to the use of Horticultural Therapy in survivors of trauma. She currently is enrolled in the Post-Masters Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program at Gonzaga University with graduation anticipated from that program in December 2012.
Robin has worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse and as an Obstetric – Gynecologic Nurse Practitioner in many private and public health settings with particular emphasis on the mental health needs of patients, adolescents and parents. She has been instrumental in collaborating while establishing and co-facilitating support groups for women suffering from infertility, post partum depression and post partum adjustment issues.
She has had a special interest in the prevention and treatment of Post-Partum Depression; Empowerment issues; Survivorship after Trauma and Grief; and Strength Based Counseling approaches.
